Welford School Enjoys Bowls Experience

We have been delighted to welcome pupils from Welford School as part of their PE lessons over recent weeks. The school has now completed five of their six scheduled PE lessons at the club, giving children the opportunity to experience the sport of bowls in a friendly and supportive environment.

The sessions have been met with great enthusiasm from the pupils, who have shown real enjoyment and engagement throughout. It has been fantastic to see the children getting involved, learning new skills, and having fun!

Mrs Bird, Year 5 teacher at Welford on Avon Primary School, shared the following feedback:

"At Welford on Avon Primary School, we are passionate about developing links in our local community. Our recent collaboration with Welford Bowls Club has been highly successful in forging and deepening these links and we have been absolutely delighted with the response of our children. We initially started with a 6-week programme of 45-minute sessions that took place during the school day alongside the promotion of the Sunday children’s sessions that the Bowls Club have been running. Every weekend has seen the attendance of more and more children to these sessions, with the most recent session having nearly 40 children in attendance! We are absolutely thrilled with enthusiasm that our children have shown and look forward to seeing how they continue to embrace their enjoyment for bowls!"

The club would like to extend a huge thank you to all the volunteers who generously gave up their time to help run the sessions. Their support and encouragement have been key to making the experience such a success.
